  • Brake Caliper

Tuesday we pulled into a state park near Winslow, AZ, and another camper reported strange noises coming from one of the MS wheels. Today, as we pulled out, we listened and we heard it too. The closest mechanic was at the Flying J just down the road. The mechanic in the Goodyear Tire Shop there removed the wheel and the caliper was swinging free. Both bolts that hold it in place had fallen out. Apparently, they weren't properly torqued when they were installed. They were unable to locate the needed bolts in either auto parts store in town. We will call Lippert first thing tomorrow to see if they can ship them right away. Any other suggestions?
Meanwhile, we are parked at the Flying J with our generators providing power, for a night or two.

The brakes should be either Kodiak or Dexter--that might help locate a bolt closer than the factory.
    No damage to the rotor?

Brakes are most probably Kodiak. You can look on outside of the bearing cover cap for the name. You can call them direct and they can overnight the parts to you. Etrailer also stocks Kodiak parts.

Remove the other one go to NAPA and have them match it. The application for the Kodiak caliper is 1986 Buick Century front caliper.

Thanks, everyone. The brakes are Kodiak. I called them and was referred to Shadow Trailer Parts in California. The bolts have been shipped overnight. The Goodyear shop here next to Flying J had already tried the local NAPA and O'Reilly. Who knew a 2013 DRV was the same as 1986 Buick Century for size?

ALL the 8K Kodiak calipers are that application.
